Dr John Williamson
John Williamson, a Queensland biochemistry and medical graduate, following 4 years in remote area general practice, obtained his DA (Melb.) and FANZCA in 1970. Consultancies in Anaesthesia with intensive care responsibilities followed, in Townsville, Cardiff and Saskatoon. With medical involvement in Surf Life Saving and Scuba diving, in a multi-skilled team he studied marine envenomations in northern Australia, subsequently with a DipDHM and honorary FACTM becoming Director of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine in Adelaide. Research interests include the above disciplines, patient safety and military history. He is married to Noeleen with four children and a granddaughter, retiring fully in 2008.
