Dr Rod Westhorpe
Rod is a retired paediatric anaesthetist, and Past President of the Society. He has a long standing interest in the history of anaesthesia, and was Honorary Curator of the Geoffrey Kaye Museum for 26 years. He has authored or co-authored nearly 200 publications, many related to anaesthesia history. Book publications include “The Wondrous Story of Anesthesia”(with Ted Eger and Larry Sadiman), “Historical Notes on Anaesthesia and Intensive Care”(with Chris Ball), and “All About Anaesthesia”. The latter patient information book, co-written with Jan Davies, is now a website, accessible on the ASA website. More recently his focus has been on restoring his vintage Ferrari.
