Dr Simon Reilly
I am a specialist anaesthetist working in Melbourne. I graduated from Melbourne University in 1982 and gained my Fellowship in Anaesthesia (FANZCA) in 1992.
I have been an Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA) member since 1991 and involved with the ASA committees since 2002. I am on the Victorian Committee and was chairman of that committee in 2002 and I have been on the Professional Issues in Anaesthesia Committee (PIAC) since 2005.
Having been extensively involved in medical education and organizing conferences over that time puts me in a great position to be convener for 2016 . I have been on the committee for the combined ANZCA ASA Melbourne meetings of which I was scientific convener for three of them and on the ASA NSC conference committees for the Melbourne meetings in 2003 and 2010 before becoming the convener for this meeting. I have also been involved in part 3 courses for anaesthetic registrars, in organizing ASA country meetings and in organizing educational meetings for the Critical Care Institute at Epworth Hospital.
I am the chair of the Anaesthetic Advisory Committee and Deputy Chair of the Critical Care Institute for the Epworth Hospital group and also past chairman of Anaesthetic Services our private anaesthetic group of 37 members.
I am married with 3 children and live in the suburbs of Melbourne. My great passions are the Victorian Surf Coast,
skiing and my family.
