Prof Kate Leslie
Professor Kate Leslie is a specialist anaesthetist and head of research in the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia. She holds honorary professorial appointments in the Anaesthesia Perioperative and Pain Medicine Unit, Melbourne Medical School; Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, University of Melbourne; and Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Monash University. Kate is a former president of ANZCA and former chair of the Committee of Presidents of Medical Colleges. She currently chairs ANZCA’s Clinical Trials Network. She has published >150 papers and been awarded >$10M in research funds from NHMRC and other funders. Kate is a director of the AMC and chair of its Specialist Education Accreditation Committee. She was awarded the AMA Woman in Medicine Award and ANZCA Orton Medal in 2014, and the Melbourne Health Chairman’s award in 2015, and was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO) on 26 January 2016.
